Counselor Information

First things first…  THANK YOU!

Thank you for wanting to help make Manna the best camp ever!

Staff training this year will start at 7:00 PM on Friday, June 12, 2015 and end about 2:00 on Saturday.   If you aren’t able to join us for the whole time, we’ll miss you, but we understand how things go.  You are welcome to join us for as much as you can.

Age Requirements

If you are interested in being a Counselor-in-Training (CIT) we only ask that you be at least 13 years old and have a willingness to help. CIT’s are generally ages 13-16. The day camps, primary camp, and kids camps are where you are needed. If this is your first year helping, you will most likely be asked to be a CIT. This is a great opportunity to gain leadership experience and help out. You won’t regret it!

Sr. Counselors are typically ages 16 – 28. You may counsel at camps where the campers are younger than you, but not the same age. We need Sr. Counselors at every camp. It is an incredibly rewarding experience and we will provide you with the training and support you need. You will be paired up with another counselor or two in counseling teams.  All staff at Manna Camp are volunteers so there is no monetary compensation for your time…however the reward of serving and assisting others in their spiritual growth is priceless! The skills you acquire at camp will prepare you for life. Communication skills, organizational skills,  your work ethic, your ability to provide care for others and assess safety situations are all valuable skills that will benefit you in your future career. Sheryl and Kris write letters of recommendation for counselors that are applying for jobs and scholarships. We hope you will consider being a part of our dynamic team of counselors. The friendships you make are a great treasure also.
